Your Source for Innovative New Dog Products

The ThunderBand™ is a 2-part hearing protection system for dogs. Part 1 is the corded set of foam Earpads and Part 2 is the contoured and fully adjustable foam Headband.

First, pass one end of the corded ear pads underneath your dog's collar (on the topside of their neck) with equal lengths of cord to each side. Then lift their earflap and gently press the foam ear pad in place as shown below. Repeat for the other ear.

Next, with their earflaps down, simply wrap the headband around the dog's head and secure underneath with the velcro attachment. The fit should be snug but not too tight. That's all there is to it!

The two parts of the ThunderBand™ work in conjunction to greatly reduce the decibel level of loud noises entering the dog's ears allowing them to realize they are not in the danger they perceive.

The foam ear pads serve the same purpose as human foam earplugs but they are much softer and much more comfortable.

The foam headband serves multiple purposes. It holds the dog’s ear flaps down keeping the foam ear pads compressed and in place while also absorbing outside noise. The secure snug fit of the headband around the dog’s head also aids in comforting the dog and making them feel more secure. When afraid, many dogs try to shield their head and force themselves into tight spaces. The snug fitting comfortable headband helps them in this respect even though its primary purpose is to hold the ear flaps down and minimize the noise entering their ears.

The headband is available in 3 sizes to fit almost any size dog's head.

The largest size fits a circumference of 16" to 22". The medium size is for 12.5" to 16", and the small size is for 10" to 12.5".

To measure for the appropriate size simply wrap a string around your dog's head and measure the length.

The foam ear pads come in 2 sizes. The smaller size is for the small to medium size dogs, and the larger size is for dogs typically over 70 lbs. with the largest head size.

The ThunderBand™ should be put on at the first sign of discomfort from approaching thunderstorms and removed soon after the storms have passed.

The ThunderBand™ has been designed for relatively easy removal by the dog if uncomfortable …this aids in building trust not fear when put on again in the future.

The foam of the ear pads is medical grade, hypo-allergenic, and non-latex. It is the same foam as commonly found in women's cosmetics applicators.

The headband is comprised of UBL material that is flame-laminated (no adhesives) to both faces of high density polyester foam.

How Does the ThunderBand™ Work?

The two parts of the ThunderBand™ work in conjunction to reduce the amount of sound that enters the dog's ears while also providing a safe and secure feeling around their head. By reducing the sound level and also providing comfort, the dog is more able to learn that they are not in the danger they perceive.

The foam ear pads serve the same purpose as human foam earplugs yet they are much softer and much more comfortable. Also, rather than being pushed into the ear canal like humans ear plugs, the Thunderband™ ear pads rest comfortably just outside the entrance to the ear canal.

The foam headband serves multiple purposes. It holds the dog’s ear flaps down snug against their head and keeps the ear pads compressed and in place. The headband also absorbs outside noise and, lastly, and provides a comforting head wrap effect. When afraid, many dogs try to shield their head and will force themselves into tight spaces for protection. The snug fitting comfortable head wrap provides a similar benefit and relief.
